It’s been great fun putting together our (Spanish Nature) photograph collection of Moroccan Birds. Sorting through file after file wasn’t at all tedious; in fact it was a nostalgic journey, each bird evocative of a special memory. Searching our gallery will give you an insight to the Birds of Morocco and another reason to add to the many why you should visit this great birding country.

The gallery is far from complete and with each visit or tour we make then slowly we are able to build on the number of bird species covered pictorially. If, after looking through our collection, you think you have a better photograph of any bird included, or if you have a reasonable photograph of a missing bird species, please do let us have a copy. If you can donate pictures we will of course credit you with any we use. We would like, eventually, to include most of the bird species recorded in Morocco, help!

If you would like to know more about opportunities to go to Morocco specifically to take photographs of birds, please contact us and we will be able to advise a suitable tour and date.

A brief introduction

Moroccan Birds has been created by Spanish Nature. We have created this special web site for Moroccan Birds because this destination, for birding, is still not getting the attention it deserves. Spanish Nature are doing  birding tours in Morocco, both in spring and autumn, covering the desert and coastal areas.  Where possible we are employing local guides, but always under the supervision of one of our senior-guides, thus guaranteeing the high quality for which Spanish Nature is known throughout the birding world.

Working in various countries we pay particular attention to details such as using local companies, local guides and wherever possible local produce. In Morocco we are introducing an educational programme to local schools focusing on nature and we are also helping cooperatives whose aim is to improve the quality of life for marginalized women and children.
